The Little House by Virginia Lee Burton is one of my favorite children’s books. The images from The Little House are timeless, representing so many of the values we have about what makes a house a home.
As a child I remember reading this book and watching with sadness as the little house in the country becomes rundown as the big city surrounds it. But then a new family buys the house and restores it to it’s former perfection. I was always so pleased each time I read this book, enjoyed the imagery and artwork, and saw the beautiful Little House restored.
And you wonder why I became an architect and builder?
